Read, Review, Love! How to Write a Book Review
Short Book Reviews vs Long Book Reviews
Some book reviews are one or two words, some are one or two sentences, and then there are book reviews of one or more paragraphs. It is all down to the preference of the reviewer.A short honest review (even one or two words) is better than no book review - so don't let the length of what you want to say put you off saying it.

As an author, I love book reviews of any length, as feedback for my work is always appreciated.
As a reader, I usually leave book reviews of one or two sentences. However, now that I am a writer I intend to challenge myself to leave longer reviews in the future.
Things to Ask Yourself When Writing a Book Review
- Did you enjoy the book? Would you recommend it to other readers?
- Did you enjoy the storyline?
- Did you like the characters and want to know more about them?
- If the book is in a series, do you want to read more books from the series?
- Did you like the illustrations? Did they help the story come to life?
- How did you feel when you had finished the book? Did you feel satisfied or disappointed? Did you want more?
- Did you like the book cover?
- Was the book easy to read and well laid out?
- Is there anything else that you think potential readers should know?
Why Do Authors Want Book Reviews
Authors may have many reasons for wanting book reviews.Leaving reviews gives other readers the chance to find out more about a book, and means that they may choose to read the book if it has good reviews.
